Civilization VI is a really fun game and it's damn good to have it on Linux, but performance has been an issue. Aspyr Media are aware of it and they are looking to improve it.
Civilization VI is being ported to Linux by Aspyr Media and I’m seriously excited for the release. I’m able to confirm a little early for you that it will release on February 9th.
It has been pointed out in our Telegram chat group (thanks Kithop) that Aspyr Media have said on Steam that Civilization VI has entered final testing for Linux.
It’s been a bit of a ride, but we now have it confirmed for sure that Civilization VI is coming to Linux, and the release isn’t far off. We are able to confirm this with permission before the official announcement from Aspyr Media that is due later today.
Aspyr Media have confirmed that the Linux version of Civilization VI will not be confirmed for this year, as they are still looking into the 'feasibility' of the Linux port.
Civilization VI was originally announced for Linux back in May, since then we've had a lot of silence on it, until today. Aspyr Media seem to be the developer handling it, but they are still investigating if it's viable.
